Give Thanks!
"It is good to give thanks to the Lord,
And sing praises to Your name, O most High" Psalm 92:1

Guys, I hope you all can make to our Thanksgiving Day Service, this Thursday at 10:00am. It's one of my favorite services of the year. When you think about it, God deserves way more than one service of us praising Him.
What are you thankful for? Thankfulness is the constant focus on the amazing goodness of God. So since its almost Thanksgiving, and to prepare for the Thanksgiving Day Service--take a second, think about it. What are you thankful to God for?

UPCOMING EVENTS and ANNOUNCEMENTS
This Friday please meet at the church at 7:15pm to go the KNH. Derick and Sarah will be coming later because they have to work late. So, plan on meeting at church at 7:15pm for a ride to the KNH.
We will be preparing our hearts and seeking the Lord's help for the Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway. Also, there will be snacks provided.

Second order of business, SNOW CAMP
This year we are planning on going to Camp Calvary . At Camp Calvary, Snow Camp starts on Thursday. We will plan on leaving the church in the evening on Thursday. Be there Friday and come home on Saturday. Obviously, you will be missing school on Friday. Please plan accordingly. Please make sure your parents, teachers, and anyone else you see fit, knows you will be missing school that day. I know that there are times where it is unavoidable to miss school but try from now until then not to miss. That way, when the time comes you will be able to go to Snow Camp. The COST for camp is $54.00. Again like always if you need help with this cost please come and talk to Derick or Sarah.

Friday Night Youth Group
Hey Guys,
As you know, there's no "official" youth group activity this week. A bunch of us are headed off to the men's retreat. We'll see you guys on Sunday and tell you what we learned.

But as you also know, youth group is way more than mind-blowingly fun activities (one of these day's we'll have one of those:) Youth group is about you growing spiritually, so in that sense there's still youth group on Friday.

Here's some recommended activities for Friday night:
1. Think of someone who's visited youth group recently but that you don't know that well, call them and hang out with them (even if they're not your super-coolest bestest friend ever, you can still hang out with them). And don't just waste the time, tell them about how you became a Christian. (By the way, I'm mostly thinking of guys with guys and girls with girls on this--but you should already know that.)
2. Turn off everything electronic that you own, and spend some real time with God. Pray, sing, memorize a verse and read a big chuck of the Word. We set aside 3 hours for a football game or a movie all the time, can't we give God 3 hours?
3. Write a letter to an unsaved family member. Tell them how much you love them and tell them how much God loves them.
4. Call up one of the older Christians in church (by older I mean over 40, not over 18) and tell them that you'd like to get together with them to pray and fellowship. When you get together, ask them how they got saved and what they've learned in walking with God over the years. Then spend some time praying together.

We watch TV, surf the internet and play video games ALL the time. Do something different. Have fun at youth group on Friday!
