Well, now that I have your attention. I wanted to talk to my youth group especially, but anyone can read this.
Well guys, we've all been through a lot together. We've seen each other cry, (ok, me cry), laughed together, and prayed together. We are a family. A disfunctional, wierd, crazy, screaming, angry, loving family. So as your sister I want you to think about a few things. Tell me what you think and talk to me but here it is.
I don't think we are wierd enough. Seriously. When I look at some of our Myspace's and such, I don't always see that much of a difference between our's and that of my school friends. That's just an example, but why are we like the world sometimes (myself included)? Why are we so afraid to stand up and be different? Christ didn't come to die so that we can mumble something in passing about believing in God to our friends. The cross of Christ is not glorified when we are working so hard to dress like, act like, and listen(to music) like our ungodly friends. I know this doesn't apply to all of us in all areas of our lives, but to be honest, I know it applies to me a lot of the time. We work so hard to listen to the latest song, watch the coolest TV show, and buy the latest styles that we forget the agony of Christ on the cross. We forget how much Jesus suffered so that we could have new life IN HIM. Not in the world, IN JESUS CHRIST. This world is not our home, we are strangers here. I want to challange all of us this week to be different. One time this week, get made fun of because you stuck up for the holiness of Christ. One time this week, share the gospel with someone and be prepared for them to walk away. One time this week, let someone think your crazy cause you didn't follow the crowd. Just one time. Christ suffered in agony on a cross so you could share the awesome news of the resurection with your friends. Rejoice in your Saviour this week and glorify Him by being wierd. I don't think that's too much to ask, do you?
Talk to me about this. How do you think our youth group can be a better witness? How can we focus our lives around the cross of Christ? I don't want our youth group to be focused on us and how much fun we have together. I want us to be different, better-er, holy-er. I love you guys and I want us to stand before Christ one day and not be ashamed of how we lived our lives in this youth group. I want to stand before Christ and hear him say to every one of us, "Well done you good and faithful servants, even in High School you glorified Me!"

You are invited to the semi, bi-annual Bethel Chapel Youth Group Christmas Party. This Friday at 7:00pm. Don't forget to bring your white elephant gift. (If you don't know what a white elephant gift is--ask your mother.) Bring your appetite too because we'll be having some awesome grub. We'll also be drinking out of the coolest glasses ever invented by mankind.
Grab a friend and your Christmas spirit--and we'll see you on Friday.

I just found this quote in Bryan Chapell's book, "Praying Backwards." It's a good reminder why our youth group and our website is about "something better."
It is as though, after years of possessing only a black-and-white TV, a generous relative provides us a new high-definition color console. Suddenly the entertainment that appealed to us for so long loses its allure. We desire that which fills our senses with greater sound and color--and seems more real.
Of course, if we wander away from the HD-TV and pass by the room that holds the black-and-white, it may still draw us in and even mesmerize us for a time with its old images. But it no longer has the appeal for us and power over us that it once did. Our desires have shifted because we have experienced something better.

I am sorry I have not been able to do this in a while. I've been reading through Genesis and yesterday I got to the story when Abram lets Lot live in the seemingly better land. It says in Genesis 13:10 "Lot saw that the Jordan Plain was well-watered like the Lord's garden. So Lot chose the whole Jordan Plain for himself." We, however, know that the lands of Sodom and Gomorrah were not very good places to live, for the Bible says in Genesis 13:13 "The people who lived in Sodom were very wicked." And in Genesis 13:14 God says to Abram "look north, south, east, and west I will give you all the land you see." This just got me thinking about how God rewards us, as christians, for taking the hard way and sticking to it because we see right here in Genesis a couple of examples of people who were rewarded for taking the hard way Noah, Abram, Joseph etc. This was just a great reminder and encouragemant to me and I hope it can be to you to. Whenever you start thinking, this isn't worth, just go back to Genesis and read about how God blessed these people for taking the hard way.

Hey Guys,
Youth group this week is at Sarah and I's house. 8:45pm. If there's some people that haven't been out in a while, give them call and make sure they know they're invited.
Hey, instead of pizza Friday night we're going to have Stromboli. Bring 3 dollars if you're planning on eating. Any suggestions for what kind of Stromboli to get or where to get it from?
