"Tell of Death"
by Brenda Serrano
If I were told I'd die tomorrow
Where would you be by the morrow?
If she was told she'd have 10 days
Would this be your constant sorrow?
If he was gone before he bid farewell
You think it would be all hell?
Do you think it would matter?
Do you think anyone would care?
Do you think your dreams would shatter
In every glassy cased ware?
I'll tell you what I think:
I think it true
That death is nothing
But sweet like morning dew
Because i know where im going
And i know my mission
Tis' a wonderful gain
That gives total sufficience
For I know deep
In my heart and in my soul
Tis far better than reaching
Every man's highest goal...
Now...
Tell me what you think of death
Tell me what you think
Because a man who is afraid to die
Will lose everything...

It may seem a little blunt but it is true. If you live your life afraid of taking chances you'll end up just like that guy in Mathew 25:14-30. He ended up losing everything, "Take the two thousand dollars away from him! Give it to the one who has the ten thousand! To all who have, more will be given, and they will have more than enough. But everything will be taken away from those who don't have much. Throw this useless servant outside into the darkness, where there is weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth." His master gave him 2thousand but he hid it instead of investing it. He did this because he was afraid...and people who are still afraid today should know that God wants to invest in us today! Not tomorrow. You need to use your talents right now. Not just when you are older. Don't be afraid to live your life-the way God wants you to that is. He gave you whatever talents or gifts you have for a reason.
You could also look at it from the perspective of not wanting to leave the world because there are things here you treasure more than you should. I just wanted to remind you all that death is gain. Just like the song goes, "For me to live is Christ, to die is gain." That was the main perspective but you can look at it from both ways.
