Hebrews 4:15-16
"For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every way has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we might receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need."
I love these verses because they remind us that Jesus was perfect because He never faced any temptations but because He was tempted but never fell. That's why with Him on our side we can defeat our sins. As long as we run to Him to get the help we need.
Can you think of some temptations Jesus faced and defeated, that give us encouragement when we face them?

Lamentations 3:22-24
"But this I call to mind and therefore I have hope. The faithful love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. The Lord is my portion, says my soul, therefore I will hope in Him. The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul that seeks Him."
I love these verse because they remind us that God is always good. Every day He is faithful in letting us live and giving us blessings we don't deserve.
What are some of the mercies God bestows on us every day?

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
"Two are better than one, because two have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall one will lift up the other. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to pick him up!"
What would you say is the main theme of this verse? Who is the only friend that will never let us down?

1 Peter 4:12-14
"Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice insofar as you share Christ's sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed. If you are insulted for the name of Christ you are blessed, because the Spirit of God rests upon you."
What do you think Peter means when he says that when we go through trials we "share Christ's sufferings"? How does being insulted for Christ show that we are blessed by Him?
