I know all of us are going through some hard things or we will if we are following Christ so I thought I would just read you some verses that talk about suffering as a Christian. "In this you rejoice, though now for a little while you have been greived by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith-more precious than gold that perishes when it is tested by fire-may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ"(1 Peter 1:6-7). In this verse Peter is telling us that God puts trials in our lives to test our faith and see if we really trust in God or not. And if we do trust in Him in our trials it will result in God getting the praise and glory He deserves. "Christians do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though sometyhing strange were happening to you. But rejoice because you share Christ's, that you may also rejoice rejoice and be glad when His glory is revealed. If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. If anyone sufers as a Christian let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in that name. Therefore let those who suffer according to God's will entrust their souls to a faithful Creator while doing good"(1 Peter 4:12-14;16;19). Here Peter is saying we go through trials because as Christians we are to be like Christ and He went through much more than we will ever go through. He also tells us to be glad when we go through trials for Him because that is part of what shows we are growing and getting closer to Christ. And in verse 19 He is telling us that when we go through trials we are to trust in our faithful Creator and continue to try to grow in God. "For this slight momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to things seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are temporary, but the things that are unssen are eternal"(2 Corinthians 4:17-18). Here Paul is telling that as we go through little, non-eternal trials. They are producing for us eternal rewards in heaven if we trust in God and show Him off while going through those trials. And also if we trust in God while going through trials other people will see a difference in us and that will bring glory to God. And also remember that "He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ"(Philippians 1:6). And part of God completing what He started in us is letting us go through trials so we can grow. Lastly remember Jesus' words "I will never leave you nor forsake you." He will always be with you no matter what you are going through.

I don't normally do this, and I'm probably going to regret doing this, but what do you guys think about going down to a coffee shop in Manayunk this Friday after Jr. Youth Group? They have a lot more than coffee and I thought it would be cool to hang out somewhere different. Wadda think?

Bring money for pizza tonight. See you guys there.

Hey there,
I've noticed that most of my blog entries here are always entitled "Friday Night." I was trying to think of something else to call it, but I figured that "Saturday Night" or "Tuesday Night" would be kind of confusing.
Well this week youth group is at the Pastor's house. Be there at 8:00pm, and bring 4 bucks for pizza. Try to invite people and let everyone know the time and place. You guys have fun.

Hey Guys,
That's right we're back and there is the ol' YG tonight. 7:00pm for the juniors, 8:30 for everybody else. We're going to be playing some games in the basement (wait, don't we do that every Friday night?) Think about who you can call and invite. See you guys tonight.
