Well it's sad but true--summer's over. And most of you guys have the homework to prove it. So take a second and think. What did God teach this summer? It doesn't have to be long, just write down in a couple sentences what God taught you over the last 3 months.

See you guys on Friday.

One Day
My friend has gone away today and is in a better place

It is a joy to say that I will one day see his face in that better place

He has gone away to be with his savior Jesus Christ

and today he is in paradise

His tesimony for Jesus will live on in his friends

He has set a better trend for evoryone he knows

I love him very much

and he will be missed a bunch but

he will always be rembered in our lives today forevermore

but one day with Jesus we will praise him together foevermore

so he is gone today but one day I'll see him in heaven with the angels and well sing

holy holy holy forevermore with Jesus and the angels

(A poem by Stephen Ball written for John Marishlian who recently passed away)

All The Mercy We Need
The other day I was reading James 2:8-13 in my devotions, James 2:13 says, "For judgement is without mercy to one who has no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgement." This verse is a huge challenge to us, for God is telling us that if we don't show mercy to others he won't show mercy to us. This verse just got me thyinking about John Marashlian(this is before he died) and I just started to pray to God asking him to show mercy to John and heal him, but God reminded me that He has already shown mercy to John. He saved John (and you if you know him as your Savior) from his sins and John proved that by his testimony for Jesus Christ. John lived for Christ and because of that He is now in Heaven with His Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. If it wasn't for God using John in my life I might have never had the chance to serve God at the KNH this summer and I would be wasting so much more time on things that don't matter. John really had a passion for God and he faithfully served God for the last 4 or so years at the KNH. While having my devotions that day God also lead me to Hebrews 4:15-16 which says, "For we do not have a high priest (Jesus) who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need." Because of the life that Jesus lived, the death that He suffered, and His resurrection we now have a Savior that knows exactly what we are going through. For He went through so much more for us. We can go to Him anytime and receive His mercy and grace, what a Savior we have! But don't forget that because of what He did for us we need to be willing to forgive others. When you are struggling with forgiving others, go to God's Word and read about how He has forgiven you. And please don't forget about our brother John and all he did for us.
